The MSc Strategic Information Systems (subject to approval) is a one-year programme taken full time, set at Level 9 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications and Level 7 on the European Qualification Framework, worth 90 ECTS. This programme has been designed to equip students with both strategic and practical capabilities to succeed in today’s digital business environment.
In Semester 1, students gain a strong foundation in understanding the complexities of the modern digital business world, exploring how to identify opportunities and propose innovative IT solutions. Semester 2 focuses on the development of advanced strategic thinking, alongside practical skills in analysis and data modelling—essential tools for informed and effective decision making.
Upon successful completion of all taught modules and the approval of the research proposal, students will progress to the Dissertation phase in Semester 3, allowing them to apply their knowledge to a focused area of study and demonstrate independent research skills at a master's level.

Dissertation
Students undertake nine taught modules, following a specific sequential order that builds their skillsets in a natural progression. You will move from core information systems essentials into more specialist areas that address the challenges facing businesses today.
You will end your course with a dissertation, providing you with an opportunity to deploy the competencies you have acquired over the programme. The dissertation also allows you to apply your knowledge, skills, and competencies to a research question of your choice.
Our practical approach to business education is further enhanced through guest lectures, professional workshop sessions and individual mentoring, providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's competitive marketplace.

On successful completion of this programme you will be able to:
Applicants should hold at least a second-class (2:2) honours degree at Level 8 (e.g. BA (Hons), BBus (Hons), BSc (Hons)) or international equivalent in a related field such as business, computing, science, or engineering. Other disciplines may be considered where applicants can demonstrate sufficient numerical and digital skills.
Applicants with a Level 8 Higher Diploma in Business or an IT-related field may also be eligible.
All applicants must demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR B2+ level, evidenced by one of the following:

Our Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business degree leads to employment in any number of business, management or administration-related roles.
The programme is also designed to lead to further study in cognate areas. This programme has been specifically designed to ensure graduates will be equipped with the relevant skills and competencies sought by employers today.
The digital focus prepares students for the new digital workplace and introduces the key technical innovations in modern business. The emphasis on using software applications as business tools opens the door to further learning and research and also prepares students for specialised programmes at postgraduate level.

What English Language qualifications can I use?
CEFR B2+ as evidenced through a recognised English language test such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo and taken within two years of application.
Is the course globally recognised?
Subject to approval, our course is fully accredited by QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland).
What is the living cost for students in Dublin?

What happens if I don't meet the English language requirements?
Students who do not meet the English Language requirement may enrol in a preparatory English Language programme from OHC English Dublin to prepare for a recognised English Language test.
How many intakes do you have?
We have 3 intakes per calendar year. February, June and October.
Can I work with an Ireland Student Visa?
Yes, international students holding a Stamp 2 visa can work up to 40 hours per week during official holiday periods only if those holidays fall within the summer months.
If your holiday falls outside of these periods (for example, September to December), you are not permitted to work 40 hours per week and must adhere to the term-time limit of 20 hours per week.
