The MBA at Holmes Institute Dublin is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme, delivered at NFQ Level 9 and designed to prepare future business leaders for today’s rapidly evolving global economy. The programme develops advanced knowledge and practical skills across strategic management, leadership, digital transformation, marketing, finance, operations, sustainability, and corporate governance.
Throughout the programme, students build the strategic, analytical, and decision-making capabilities needed to lead organisations in complex business environments. Learners also complete a specialist elective in Artificial Intelligence for Business, Cyber Security, or Project Management, allowing them to deepen expertise in a high-demand area of modern business practice.
The programme concludes with a collaborative dissertation project, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world business challenges while developing research, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills at postgraduate level.

Students on our MBA programme can expect an intensive, face-to-face learning experience in Dublin city centre, with a strong focus on practical business application and interactive learning. Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, case studies, and group workshops, supported by small class sizes and experienced academic staff.
Assessment combines individual and group assignments, presentations, business case analysis, reflective learning, and a collaborative dissertation designed to develop leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills. Applicants must hold a minimum second-class honours (2:2) degree in any discipline or an international equivalent. Applicants with a Level 8 Higher Diploma in Business Administration or a recognised professional qualification may also be considered.
All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to B2+ on the CEFR. Where mathematics is not evident within the primary qualification, applicants must provide evidence of maths proficiency equivalent to a minimum O6 grade in the Irish Leaving Certificate.


Our Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business degree leads to employment in any number of business, management or administration-related roles.
The programme is also designed to lead to further study in cognate areas. This programme has been specifically designed to ensure graduates will be equipped with the relevant skills and competencies sought by employers today.
The digital focus prepares students for the new digital workplace and introduces the key technical innovations in modern business. The emphasis on using software applications as business tools opens the door to further learning and research and also prepares students for specialised programmes at postgraduate level.

What English Language qualifications can I use?
CEFR B2+ as evidenced through a recognised English language test such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo and taken within two years of application.

Our course is fully accredited by QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland).
What is the living cost for students in Dublin?

What happens if I don't meet the English language requirements?
Students who do not meet the English Language requirement may enrol in a preparatory English Language programme from OHC English Dublin to prepare for a recognised English Language test.
How many intakes do you have?
We have 3 intakes per calendar year. February, June and October.
Can I work with an Ireland Student Visa?
Yes, international students holding a Stamp 2 visa can work up to 40 hours per week during official holiday periods only if those holidays fall within the summer months.
If your holiday falls outside of these periods (for example, September to December), you are not permitted to work 40 hours per week and must adhere to the term-time limit of 20 hours per week.
